Check in, line up, graduate, celebrate.
Check-in
- All graduates will be given a name card. Please hold onto it throughout the ceremony. Name cards are used to announce you on stage and display your name as you accept your degree.
- If you find someone’s name card or misplace your own, please return it to the registration table.
- Doctoral degree recipients who do not have hoods, please report to the administration table in your line-up room in the North Building.
Pre-ceremony reception
- After check-in, please head to the North Building of the convention center.
- Please leave any bags or containers with your guests. You will not be able to carry anything during the processional.
- A pre-ceremony reception will be held in your honor, starting at 9 am. This is for faculty, staff and graduates only. You’ll have the chance to celebrate with your guests at the New Alumni Reception after the ceremony.
Line-up
- Line-up begins at 10 am inside your school or college reception area.
- Keep your name card in a safe place. This is the only item you will carry with you into the ceremony.
- Please turn off your mobile devices or switch them to vibrate mode at this time.
And the tassel goes to … ?
- Bachelor’s and master’s degrees recipients start with the tassel on the right side of the cap. After everyone has received a diploma, there will be a ceremonial instruction for graduates to move their tassels to the left.
Celebrate
- Register to join us at University of Phoenix Night at the Ballpark on the evening of your graduation. Receive up to four complimentary tickets. We have special events planned in your honor that you won’t want to miss.
